Then, after making it to the Elite Eight Round of the NCAA Tournament in 1999, the team has continued to make it deep into the tournament every year as well as regularly being nationally ranked in the AP polls, but Adam Morrison joining the team in 2003 was what transformed Gonzaga from a Cinderella team into a front page basketball powerhouse. Because of his play and his long, messy hair, Adam Morrison, has had his played likened to such basketball legends as Larry Bird and “Pistol” Pete Maravich.
