Gonzaga University has emerged and is bringing West Coast Conference excitement to the McCarthey Athletic Center on a yearly basis. The only way to be a part of some of the hottest basketball action in the nation is to pick up Gonzaga Bulldogs basketball tickets. Located in Spokane, Washington, the Bulldogs basketball team puts on a thrilling show for fans from all over as they square off against the other teams in the West Coast Conference. Playing against teams like the Loyola Marymount Lions, Pepperdine Waves, and the Portland Pirates, the Bulldogs have been dominating their conference for a long time. The Gonzaga Bulldogs are an extremely popular team, especially with the locals and the students, so with only 6,000 seats per game at the McCarthey Athletic Center, the opportunities to see them live are hard to come by if you don’t get a hold of your tickets well in advance of game day.
The Bulldogs most famous basketball player was John Stockton, who went on to play for the Utah Jazz for his entire career in the NBA. Born and raised in Spokane, John Stockton was a true hometown hero that brought the Bulldogs to national prominence before moving onto the NBA and eventually being named as one of the 50 Greatest NBA Players of All-Time.
For more than ten years after John Stockton left Gonzaga for the NBA, the Bulldogs basically fell off the map of college basketball until they finally made it back into the NCAA Tournament in 1995. Then, after making it to the Elite Eight Round of the NCAA Tournament in 1999, the team has continued to make it deep into the tournament every year as well as regularly being nationally ranked in the AP polls, but Adam Morrison joining the team in 2003 was what transformed Gonzaga from a Cinderella team into a front page basketball powerhouse. Because of his play and his long, messy hair, Adam Morrison, has had his played likened to such basketball legends as Larry Bird and “Pistol” Pete Maravich.
With all this tradition and excellence on the court year after year, you cannot afford to miss out on what will surely be another great year for Gonzaga Bulldogs Basketball and their fans. Alumni and sports fans in the area are extremely loyal to their team, and the Bulldogs basketball team has definitely given them something to be loyal about with years of competitive games filled with many talented players that have made blockbuster careers both in college and in the NBA as well.
