Coming back from a third place finish in the Pacific Conference, Arizona State Sun Devils tickets are on fire this season. Built in 1958, Sun Devil Stadium has been the scene of Arizona State football games for nearly fifty years now. The stadium, which holds a capacity of 73,379, boasts a reputation of being one of the nation's most outstanding collegiate football facilities. A $2 million renovation in 1992 provided the stadium with a more durable playing surface and provided better patron sight lines in the lower seating levels, among other benefits.
When they Sun Devils took the field last season, it was with confidence and high expectations. Starting out with a 3-2 record that consisted of an exciting win over USC and a last-second loss to LSU, fans had reason to put their faith in Arizona. However, after defeats by Oregon, Stanford and UCLA, the team was set back to 4-4 in the Pac-10, tied for fourth place and 6-5 in the regular season. When coach Koetter was asked about the outcome of last season, he answered, “"Looking back at last season, there are some aspects of our team about which we were tremendously satisfied, and some areas that needed improvement. The bottom line is that we had a 7-5 season."
Although their finish saw them somewhere in the middle last year, aspirations are high for the upcoming season. Considering a weakened USC, top spots seem to be up for grabs in the rankings and the two main contenders for them seem to be Cal and Arizona State. According to the Blue Ribbon Analysis, the Sun Devil’s running game is the best it has been since Koetter started with the team six seasons ago. And although some may question the starting offensive line, its collection of fresh, young talent should top last season’s injured-listed group. For the most part, it seems that the real question falls on the Sun Devil’s defense. However, analysts seem to think that Bill Miller’s line holds potential for vast improvement over last year. New talent across the board, including the addition of senior Loren Howard who recently transferred from Northwestern, is giving hope to fans after what seemed to be an injury-riddled line last season.
With new talent and uplifted confidence, the Sun Devils are excited to jump into a brand new year. One thing is for sure, if you wait to buy Arizona State Sun Devils tickets, you’ll undoubtedly be left standing outside the heat.
