The Green Bay Packers got their start as an employer sponsored team in 1919. The Indian Packing Plant supplied uniforms and a playing field to employees, who depended on donations from fans to earn their money. Joining the American Professional Football Association, which later became the NFL, the Packers soon became a powerhouse with three straight league titles in 1929, 1930, and 1931, and three more in 1936, 1939, and 1944.

After struggling in the early 50’s, Green Bay landed legendary head coach Vince Lombardi. Lombardi, who came over after serving as an assistant with the New York Giants, immediately gave the Packers ticket holders a winning season in 1959, a Western division Title in 1960, and an NFL Championship in 1961. That win began a string of championships for the Packers; as they went on to win NFL titles every year through 1967. Along the way, the Packers also claimed victories over their AFL rival in the first two Super Bowls, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 35-10 in the first ever Super Bowl and the Oakland Raiders 33-14 in Super Bowl II. These Packer teams featured NFL greats and future Hall of Famers like Bart Starr, Paul Hornung, and Jim Taylor.

The Packers experienced little success between the years of 1968 and 1992, managing to reach the playoffs only twice in that period, but thing began to change when Green Bay hired Mike Holmgren to lead the team. Holmgren delighted Packers ticket buyers by builing a winning team around quarterback Brett Favre, capturing successive division titles in 1995 and 1996, and winning Super Bowl XXXI with a 35-21 victory over the New England Patriots. With a third division title in the next year, Green Bay advanced to Super Bowl XXXII, only to fall to the Denver Broncos 31-24.

Green Bay Packers tickets have always been a premiere ticket to NFL greatness but nothing compares to what they hold in store for 2005. Could this be Brett Favres last campaign on the frozen tundra? Will Lambeau Field bid goodbye to a legend? Find out for yourself. Brett Favre is Hall of fame bound but he and legions of Packers fans would love nothing better than to see the NFL’s most durable quarterback finish up with a trip to Super Bowl XLV at Detroit’s Ford Field.
