Seattle Seahawk ticket holders have one question for 2005: "Would the real Seahawks team please stand up?” Seattle was the thinking man's pick in 2004. Prognosticators across the country announced their undying allegiance to Mike Holmgren’s well-balanced troops. Seattle Seahawk tickets became a hot commodity for the first time in a long, long time.
Seattle lived up to its expectations early. But the air is thin on top, and soon the Seahawks were suffocating on their own success. They tripped through the second half of the season, ending with a 9-7 record and an early playoff exit.
So which team can the Seahawk faithful plan on in 2005? The world-beaters of fall? Or the winter team that kept snatching defeat from the jaws of victory on a weekly basis. Holmgren and company hope that it's the former. He will put the Seahawks on the back of Alexander this year, and hope the star running back can lead them to the promise land.

Started in 1976, the Seattle Seahawks went 2-12 in their inaugural season, making an inauspicious debut in the NFC West. Two years later they were swapped with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and called the AFC West home until 2002.

In the early years Seahawk ticket holders were treated to the development of a wide receiver who would go on to retire as one of the greatest pass receiver in NFL history. Beginning with his breakout year of 1978, during which he racked up 1,168 receiving yards, Steve Largent became the model for consistency and precision in the NFL.

In 1983, Seattle enjoyed one of its finest seasons. For the first time in franchise history, Seattle fans were buying Seahawks tickets to the playoffs. The Seahawks knocked off Miami for their first ever playoff win, before bowing out to the eventual world champion Oakland Raiders.
Led by Largent and quarter back Dave Kreig, Seattle built on their success in 1984, soaring out to a 12-2 record. But late season stumbles found the Seahawks demoted to the Wild Card in the playoffs. Again, they exited after two playoff games.

In the next 10 years, the Seattle Seahawks established themselves as a team that is competitive year in and year out. Meanwhile, Largent was racking up every record possible, including receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. Although Jerry Rice would eclipse all these records years later, Largent went on to become a first ballot Hall of Fame inductee and a United States Senator.

The Seahawks lost Kreig in 1991 and went through a plethora of highly touted young quarterbacks in their quest to replace him. After trying slugger Mark McGwire's little brother Dan and Notre Dame Golden Boy Rick Mirer, the Seahawks opted for some veteran help at the position. Enter: Warren Moon. Moon shined with the Seahawks for two seasons, but was unable to land them in the playoffs, before Mike Holmgren came to town in 1999 and began his slow train towards a rebuilt Seattle Seahawks.

Holmgren project looks to be near completion in 2005, which has Seattle fans scurrying around to get their claws on Seahawk football tickets. With quarterback Matt Hasslebeck mastering Holmgren's West Coast offense and Alexander coming within one yard of being the NFL’s leading rusher in 2004, the future looks bright on the offensive side of the ball. The defense exchanged big names and big contracts for youth and speed. If Holmgren can make that transition smoothly, the defense may be able to take the Seahawks to another level, making Seattle Seahawk tickets the hottest ticket in town.
