2005 Washington Redskins tickets have turned the nation’s capitol into a hotbed of NFL action. Redskins fans are lined up for the chance to see three-time Super Bowl winner Joe Gibbs storm the field with a re-energized squad. Gibbs got his Super Bowl rings with a mixture of NFL experience and young talent and that formula is at work again in D.C. Quarterback Patrick Ramsey has taken his NFL lumps, but has shown promise. The Skins also boast a pair of proven running backs in Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts. The Washington defense was rising to the top at the end of 2004, sending NFL football fans to the box office to line up for seats in Fedex Field with their Redskins tickets in hand.

The Washington Redskins began life in 1932 as the Boston Braves, sharing both a name and a field with baseball’s Boston Braves. After a year in Massachusetts, team owner George Preston Marshall relocated the team to Fenway Park and changed their name to the Redskins. After a short stay, the Redskins moved again, this time settling in Washington D.C.

The Washington Redskins dominated the NFL from 1936 to 1942, posting seven straight winning seasons and three trips to the NFL Championship Game. They defeated the Chicago Bears in 1937 and 1942, and suffered a 73-0 defeat to the same Bears in 1940. After capturing the NFL crown in 1942, it would take the Redskins 25 more years to reach the playoffs again. The revival began with the hiring of head coach George Allen. Allen completely changed the face of the Redskins roster, using a series of trades, acquiring several seasoned veterans to form a squad that became known as “The Over the Hill Gang.” During Allen’s tenure as Redskins head coach, Washington would post seven .500 plus seasons, five NFL postseason appearances and earn a trip to Super Bowl VII, where they suffered a 14-7 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

With the hiring of head coach Joe Gibbs in 1981, the Washington Redskins cemented their prominence in the National Football League. Gibbs built on Allen’s success, using quarterback Joe Theismann and running back John Riggins to put the Redskins back on top of the NFL heap. Over the course of the next 12 years, Gibbs would lead the Redskins to the playoffs eight times and win three out of four appearances in the Super Bowl, including a 27-17 win over Miami in Super Bowl XVII, a 42-10 victory over Denver in Super Bowl XXII, and finally a 37-24 triumph over Jim Kelly and the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXVI.

Joe Gibbs is back, and once again Washington Redskins tickets are the cream of the crop in the NFL ticket harvest. Gibbs’ second go-round with the Skins has football fans anticipating a return to the upper echelon of the NFL. Washington Redskin ticket holders are banking on quarterback Patrick Ramsey, a solid running game, and a revamped defense for a return to Super Bowl glory. Redskins tickets and a seat at Fedex Field have always provided the experience of a lifetime for NFL fans and 2005 is no different. Join the Hogs and the roaring crowd in D.C. for a few hours of NFL history by reserving your Redskins tickets today.
