Boston Bruins tickets are a great way to see the Bruins assault the NHL with a revamped squad as they seek their first Stanley Cup since 1972. Captain Joe Thornton now has a much improved group of players around him, including newcomer Alexei Zhamnov, Glenn Murray, and Patrice Gergeron. With the excitement of a new beginning, a visit to the Fleet Center and Boston Bruins tickets are at the top of every hockey fan’s wish list.

The Boston Bruins first hit the ice in 1924. As the first American member of the NHL, the Bruins won their first game against a Canadian opponent, the Montreal Maroons, but saw very little success for the next few years. Things jelled quickly for Boston in the 1928-29 season when they won the franchise’s first Stanley Cup behind the talents of Eddie Shore.

After finishing the regular season at the Boston Garden with a 26-13-5 record, Eddie Shore and the Bruins captured their second consecutive division title. A semi-finals victory over the Montreal Canadiens set up the first Stanley Cup Finals between two American teams. The Bruins hoisted the Stanley Cup with a pair of victories over the New York Rangers.

It would be 10 years before Boston Bruins tickets produced the chance to see another Stanley Cup winner. With rookie Frankie Brimsek producing a great season in the net, the Bruins posted the league’s best record at 31-12-5, and moved on to capture their second Stanley Cup by virtue of a five game series over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Bruins would claim another Stanley Cup in 1941, but the championships of the early seventies are among the most memorable in Bruins history because of the presence of the legendary Bobby Orr. Orr made the Bruins roster in the 1966-67 season and finished third in scoring on the team, winning the Calder Trophy. By the next season the Bruins were back in the postseason for the first time in 10 years and Orr picks up the first of his eight Norris Trophies. In the 1969-70 season, Orr had established himself as one of the NHL’s most dominating players, winning the Hart Trophy, and his third Norris Trophy. The Bruins won 40 games and advanced into the NHL, where they polished off the New York Rangers in the first round and swept the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round. The fourth Stanley Cup in team history came with a four-game sweep over the St. Louis Blues.

After falling just short in the 1970-71 season, Orr and the Bruins claimed their fifth Stanley Cup, and the second in three years, with a six-game series win over the New York Rangers.

Boston Bruins ticket holders have watched their team get eliminated in the first round for the last three years. With that in mind, head coach Mike Sullivan overhauled the roster with the intention of getting past that first-round hurdle. It’s do-or-die time in Boston, and since there’s nothing like watching a hockey team with an attitude, go grab your Boston Bruins tickets and head out for the Fleet Center to catch what may be the hungriest team in the NHL.
