California Golden Bears tickets are about to become the biggest thing in the PAC 10. The Bears are looking good for 2006, ranked #13 in the country in the pre-season polls, and have their eyes on a major bowl to finish things off. With a schedule that includes Tennessee, Arizona State, Oregon, Stanford, and ends with a Rose Bowl appearance against USC the Bears have their work cut out for them. California football fans are already scooping up Bears tickets in anticipation of a great season in 2006.

But it’s no surprise that California is looking at the big picture. The Bears put on quite a show in 2005 for the fans in California Memorial Stadium. Opening with a 41-3 whipping of Sacramento State, California punched out a win the following week in Washington before returning home to top Illinois 35-20. Arizona came to California Memorial and got blanked 28-0. Stanford fell 27-3. In fact, the only team to escape California Memorial Stadium with a win was the eventual BCS National Champion USC Trojans.

Along the way California Golden bears ticket holders got to see some of the best college football players in the country. Topping the list is Marshawn Lynch, one of the game’s best running backs. Lynch rushed for 1,246 yards in 2005 on 196 carries, scoring 10 touchdowns along the way. In 2006, Lynch is being touted as a potential Heisman Trophy candidate. Lynch’s partner in the backfield, Justin Forsett, added 999 yards of his own, scoring six touchdowns. In the passing game, freshman receiver DeSean Jackson put the rest of the PAC 10 on alert, snagging 38 passes in his rookie campaign to lead the Bears with 601 yards and an eye opening seven touchdowns.

The California Bears topped off a great season with a 35-28 win over BYU in the Las Vegas Bowl. Lynch put on a show, rushing for 195 yards and three touchdowns to claim MVP honors while teammate DeSean Jackson made two touchdown catches, including a diving grab in the third quarter that put Cal up by 21 points. It was an exceptional offensive show from Cal, considering their quarterback was making only his second start as a college football quarterback. Steve Levy threw for 228 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the game. Still, the Bears had to put up an exceptional defensive stand late in the fourth quarter to hold off a determined BYU team that put together scoring drives of over 90 yards on three separate occasions.

California Golden Bears tickets had tons of excitement to offer in 2005 and may be even better in 2006. Remember, the Bears are looking forward to the return of Marshawn Lynch and Justin Forsett and DeSean Jackson is only in his sophomore year. Throw in the fact that the Bears lost three games by the narrowest of margins in 2005 and you’ve got the recipe for a sterling campaign in 2006. A major bowl bid is in the works at California. Better get your Golden Bears tickets now.
