Let’s face it, the chance to see the best college football team in the country doesn’t come around very often. In 2006 the Buckeyes have a very real opportunity to come out on top. If you’re ready for the best, load up on Ohio State Buckeyes tickets.
The Buckeyes are used to the pressure. In 2005 Ohio State was also one of the nation’s top ranked teams and they lived up to the pressure. Posting a 9-2 record in the regular season the Buckeyes lost only to eventual National Champion Texas in Week 2 and Joe Paterno’s Nittany Lions in a stunner in Week 5. Among their wins were a 31-6 pasting of Iowa, a 35-24 drubbing of Michigan State, and wins over both Northwestern and Michigan, all teams ranked among the Top 25 in the country.
That record was enough for Ohio State Buckeyes fans to get the chance to line up for Fiesta Bowl tickets. The Buckeyes, finishing the season with a #4 ranking, faced off against a Notre Dame team ranked at #9. Ohio State used big plays and a great performance by quarterback Troy Smith to hand the Fighting Irish a 34-20 loss. Smith completed 19 of 28 passes for 342 yards. Smith tossed an 85 yard touchdown pass to Santonio Holmes to set a Fiesta Bowl record then added another one on a 56 yard toss to Ted Ginn. Ginn also added a score with a 68 yard end around. Ohio State also posted a record 27 first downs in the game and 617 total yards, 275 of them on the ground.
It’s looking to be that kind of year again for fans with Ohio State Buckeyes tickets. Almost all the big weapons are back on offense for the Buckeyes. Troy Smith will be under center again. Running back Antonio Pittman returns after rushing for 1,331 yards and seven touchdowns in 2005. You can also look for Chris wells, one of the country’s most highly regarded recruits, to make an impact in the Buckeyes backfield. And of course, leading the receivers is the electrifying Ted Ginn, capable of breaking the long one from anywhere on the field. Gin averaged over 15 yards a reception and scored four TD’s in 2005 but is also one of the more potent kick returners in the Big 10. When Ginn gets the ball anything can happen.
Ohio State Buckeyes tickets are the real deal. The Buckeyes have their sights set on winning it all in 2006. To do it they’ll have to beat Texas, Penn State, Michigan, and Iowa along the way.
