Oregon Ducks tickets are taking flight as PAC 10 football gets into high gear for 2006. The Ducks are coming off a 10-2 season, one of their best ever and expectations are high for the upcoming campaign. Defensively the Ducks will be among the best in the PAC 10. On offense, Oregon is looking for new leadership but has a promising duo to compete for the spot as top signal caller. Brace yourselves. Oregon Ducks tickets are ready to take you on a ride in quest of a PAC 10 Championship.

The Ducks are returning seven starters on offense, including five on the all important offensive line. On defense Oregon features six players with starting experience, spread out evenly amongst the squad. It’s a good start for a defense that played well in 2005 and from whom better things are expected in 2006. Why are expectations so high amongst Oregon Ducks ticket holders? Take a look back at last year.

Oregon got off to a good start in 2005, winning three straight games at Autzen Stadium. Houston and Montana were easy cruises as the Ducks put up 38 against Houston and 47 against Montana. In Week 3 though, Oregon faced a considerably tougher team in #23 Fresno State but came away with a close 37-34 victory. They were not as fortunate in Week 4 as the #1 ranked USC Trojans dealt out a 45-13 loss and left the Ducks ticket holders somewhat stunned. The loss did have some benefits. Oregon head coach Mike Bellotti regrouped his players, put them back to work, and set off on a seven game winning streak to finish the season. Along the way the Ducks garnered wins over Stanford, #17 Arizona State, Washington, Arizona, and the #23 California Golden Bears. It was an impressive run of wins that had Oregon finishing the regular season with a #6 ranking and landed them in the Holiday Bowl against the Oklahoma Sooners where they were disappointed with a 17-14 loss. Still, 2005 was a high water mark for Oregon Ducks tickets. It also raised the bar for the Ducks in 2006.

Looking back on 2005 it’s easy to see why the Ducks were successful. Quarterback Kellen Clemens topped 2,000 yards passing and had 18 touchdowns while only giving up four interceptions. After Clemens was hurt, Dennis Dixon filled in admirably, throwing for six touchdowns and gaining 767 yards through the air. Running back Terrence Whitehead led the team in rushing with 679 yards while his backfield partner Jonathan Stewart was the goal line work horse, scoring six touchdowns in short yardage situations. Whitehead also proved himself a capable receiver coming out of the backfield. His 52 catches ranked him 3rd amongst Ducks receivers. Wide receiver Demetrius Williams had an outstanding year, averaging 17.9 yards a catch and compiling 1,059 yards and 10 TD’s.

Oregon Ducks tickets will slake your thirst for top notch PAC 10 football. The Ducks are poised to build on last year’s success and a major college bowl game could be in the works for 2006. If you’re hunting for PAC 10 action at its best, hunt down some Oregon Ducks tickets.
