Tennessee Volunteers tickets may have run into some trouble in 2005 but the Vols will be back in 2006. Head coach Philip Fulmer is too good a coach to be kept down long and the tradition of winning college football runs too deep in the Tennessee blood to be lost. Neyland Stadium will be the home of a winner in 2006. You can hang your hat on that so get your Tennessee Volunteers tickets and be a part of the revival.

What happened in 2005? First of all the Volunteers fell victim to somewhat of a quarterback controversy. With two talented QB’s on the roster no clear decision as made as to which one would be the leader and the ensuing divisive atmosphere didn’t help things. Then there was the injury to running back Gerald Riggs. The one bright side to that was the emergence of tailback Arian Foster. When Riggs went down, Foster took over and played well enough to be named to the All Freshman Team in the SEC after leading the Volunteers in rushing with 879 yards and five touchdowns.

The Volunteers got off to a good start on the season by posting a 17-10 win over UAB. But in the SEC things never come easy and after years of winning the Volunteers were due for a trying season. Tennessee Volunteers fans watched their Vols fall to # ranked Florida 16-7 in Week 2, but the troops rallied and went into LSU’s Death Valley and pulled off a stunning 30-27 win. Volunteers tickets were at a premium when Tennessee hosted Mississippi the following week and the Vols didn’t dssapoint pulling out an easy 27-10 victory in front of the home crowd at Neyland Stadium.

Then the bottom fell out for fans with Tennessee Volunteers tickets. The Vols embarked on a string of four straight losses, three of them to SEC foes. Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and Notre Dame all dumped losses on Tennessee and left the Volunteers faithful reeling. A stunned and injured Volunteers squad struggled through their last three games, beating Memphis and Kentucky but falling to Vanderbilt and the NFL bound Jay Cutler.

So now in 2006 it’s time for Tennessee Volunteers tickets to regain their status as one of the top flight SEC football tickets in the conference. The quarterback situation is settled with Erik Ainge firmly entrenched as the starter. Arian Foster is back to lead a strong group of running backs that includes senior fullback Cory Andersen leading the way. When the Volunteers go to the air, Ainge will be looking for Robert Meacham, who led the Vols with 29 catches in 2005. Tight end Chris Brown is another reliable target as is receiver Jayson Swain who trailed Meacham by only two catches.
